Elise Lee is two steps closer to lifting the W.A. Alexander Cup after surviving two rounds of match play on Thursday. The Northwestern commit’s afternoon match against Justice Bosio, of Australia, couldn’t have been closer – or more dramatic. Lee entered the par-3 18th with a 1-up lead but pulled her 5-wood into a greenside bunker. With Bosio safely on the green, Lee executed the shot of the day, splashing her ball out and watching it roll toward the hole for five seconds before it dropped in for a clinching birdie.

Texas rising sophomore Farah O’Keefe has been better than everyone through two days of the 124th Women’s Western Amateur at Onwentsia Club. The Austin, Texas, native posted a 3-under 69 in the second round on Wednesday to capture medalist honors.

The first round of the 124th Women's Western Amateur was suspended at 8:28 p.m. CT after overnight storms at Onwentsia Club caused a 5-hour, 30-minute delay on Tuesday morning. The first round will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday with the second round of stroke play immediately following.
